Pianist Michael Endres performs worldwide as a soloist and chamber music partner. He has a Master’s degree from the Juilliard School (New York), and has won many prestigious performance and discography prizes, including the Concours Geza Anda (Zurich), First and Special Prizes at the International Schubert Competition (Germany), Diapason d’or (France), and the Choc du Musique (France).
Endres has a distinguished teaching career as Professor of Piano at the Musikhochschule Cologne, the Hanns Eisler Hochschule (Berlin), the University of Canterbury (New Zealand) and the Barrat Due Institute (Norway). He regularly plays at festivals in Europe, America and Asia.
His solo recordings include cycles of the complete sonatas by Mozart, Schubert and Weber, as well as the complete works of Ravel, Gershwin and works by Schumann. The Boston Globe music critic Richard Dyer called him “one of the most interesting pianists recording today”, while the New York Times said “the performances with pianist Michael Endres were revelatory”.
