Dr Melody Lin | Musicians’ Feldenkrais Method

Melody is an experienced and passionate flute teacher. She has taught flute, chamber music, and flute ensemble at the University of Auckland for 10 years. She is also a Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner (Auckland 2019). Melody combines her insight as a performing artist with her Feldenkrais work to form a unique and holistic approach to teaching.

She crafts creative lessons using Feldenkrais principles to assist musicians to discover the experience of freedom and openness that allows musicians to play with better sound quality and the ability to expand their musical creativity.

She graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music Performance and furthered her studies at the University of Auckland with Professor Uwe Grodd, graduating with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in 2011. Melody has performed in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan, and she is the Principal Flute of the Manukau Symphony Orchestra and regularly performs with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Auckland Chamber Orchestra, Pipers Sinfonia, and has joined the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra on national tours.
